In the first year of the College on the Rothwell Campus, students selected the house names based on an astronomical theme. This is appropriate for, as it says in Psalm 19:1-3 (NIV) "The Heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world."
In addition, º«¹ú³ÉÈËÖ±²¥ has for many years specialised in astronomy as a feature of science courses and has a fully-equipped observatory, open for regular observations by students, parents and friends.
For the first three years, there were two houses, Antares and Phoenix. Orion and Pegasus were added in 1983.
The symbols representing each House were chosen
from the zodiacal implications of the names.
